About
From a scribbled idea between two friends to a company now trusted by listed enterprises, ambitious startups, universities, and governments across the Asia–Pacific, The Improbability Company (T.I.C.) has grown by doing one thing consistently: delivering outcomes that look impossible until they’re done.
We operate at the collision point of RegTech, Compliance, and ClimateTech Electrification. Our work blends engineering discipline with a sense of humour, curiosity, and the kind of naive optimism that built half the modern world. We like to think of ourselves as the improbable partner — the team you call when the thing you want doesn’t exist yet.
How we work
We’re geeks, nerds, and builders who grew up on the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, so we take our fun seriously. Across our projects, we bring over 20 years of founder experience, three successful exits, and a track record of taking messy problems and untangling them into elegant systems. We don’t posture; we ship.
Current Projects
Enterprise Worker Compliance — Tech Forge
We’re building a full end-to-end worker-compliance and workforce-management platform for a listed Australian company. That covers pre-employment checks, ongoing compliance, renewals, offboarding, audit trails, and complex regulatory workflows.
This project spans 20 engineers across Australia and Vietnam, developing a next-generation, Asia–Pacific–ready system from the ground up.
Learn moreVoltaRocks + 42 — Melvin Labs
Our internal ClimateTech venture, now valued at $10M AUD, powers the engine behind large-scale electrification. Think of it as the Shopify of electrification: real-time modelling for solar, batteries, VPP, EV charging, home upgrades, payback calculations, and retailer bundling.
It gives retailers, installers, and partners a modern, accurate way to sell and configure electrification solutions with zero friction.
Learn moreProject Cần Thơ 2030 — Magrathea
We are partnering with universities, government, and private industry to help transform Cần Thơ — Vietnam’s fourth-largest city — into a regional innovation hub aligned with the Cần Thơ 2030 digitalisation plan.
This includes convening keynote speakers, industry experts, accelerators, venture funds, and regional conferences to position Cần Thơ as a trading and innovation centre for ASEAN.
